Manager: Yoel Strimling
Yoel has been spinning straw into gold for over 25 years, and currently works as the Senior Technical Editor/Documentation Quality SME for CEVA Inc. in Herzelia Pituach, Israel. Over the course of his career, he has successfully improved the content, writing style, and look and feel of his employers’ most important and most used customer-facing documentation by researching and applying the principles of documentation quality and survey design.

Treasurer: Fatima Hyder
She has worked in communications for 25 years, including 13 years as a technical editor for an environmental consulting and construction management company. Her previous communications roles have included handling member communications as a writer/editor for a nonprofit organization that supports libraries and working as a copy editor at two daily newspapers in Tennessee. She has also taught editing at the college level.

Ann is an Administrative Assistant Editor at Leidos, an international engineering company. She lives with her husband, Ken, in Parker, CO.

Chelsea is a technical writer and editor for an international antivirus company. She lives in Charleston, SC with her husband, son, and three dogs. In her free time, Chelsea enjoys reading, watching murder mysteries, traveling, and wandering around her local Target.

Student Outreach Co-ordinator: Albarra “Barra” Althowaini
Barra recently completed a bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in Professional and Media Writing and a minor in Technical Writing at Penn State University. When he was in junior year, he joined the STC in summer 2021 to study further about the field of technical communication. He is interested in technical editing, digital accessibility, software documentation, and project management.
He is hoping to enroll in an online master’s degree of technical communication at the Arizona State University to advance his professional skills.

Volunteer-at-Large: Jill Mazza
Jill is Director of Content & Learning Strategy with WD Communications.
Since 2009, Jill has been wearing a flexible project manager-writer-editor-designer hat while leading communication skills training programs for global pharmaceutical, biotechnology, energy, and insurance industry clients. For Jill, blending technical details with readability is gratifying. Building relationships while performing ‘sentence surgery’ is a pleasure.
As a Certified Professional Coach and UX Designer, Jill provides targeted editing and developmental feedback to technical communication professionals from onboarding through leadership.
