The TE SIG offers volunteer opportunities that match your SIG experience (new to longtime members), professional experience (beginning your career to a leader in your field), and schedule (elected positions to one-time activities). By running for one of our elected positions, including:
- Co-manager (two-year term)
- Membership manager
- Communications manager
By leading, or helping with, one or more appointed positions. Here is a description of our current appointed positions, and who leads them.
- Newsletter Managing Editor (Louise Galindo) - Assigns content for Corrigo newsletter. Maintains Corrigo blog and posts articles from contributors. Sets submission deadlines, issues calls for contributors, and works with these volunteers:
- Program Committee - Volunteers who manage specific aspects of SIG programming.
- Quarterly Events Manager (open) - Finds and schedules presenters for quarterly SIG webinars. Provides presenter orientation and support. Writes website content to publicize presentations. Sends announcement to Marisa Seitz (email@example.com) to include in the Community Event list in STC Notebook.
- Fundraiser Events Manager (Li-At Ruttenberg) - Finds and schedules presenters for fundraiser meetings, which are held two or three times a year. Provides presenter orientation and support. Writes website content to publicize presentations. Sends announcement to Marisa Seitz (firstname.lastname@example.org) to include in the Community Event list in STC Notebook.
- Watercooler Chats Manager (Wendy Mastandrea) - Finds and schedules leaders for watercooler chats. Provides technical assistance if needed during chats. Writes website content to publicize the presentations. Sends announcement to Marisa Seitz (email@example.com) to include in the Community Event list in STC Notebook.
- Scholarship Coordinator (Rebekka Andersen) - Leads the committee to publicize the scholarships, updates the web site, receives applications, fields questions from applicants, coordinates judging, and awards scholarships.
- Webmaster (Rick Sapir) - Maintains the SIG Web site, manages the relationship with the Web hosting company, installs and helps maintain the Web site. XHTML, CSS, and Tiki CMS experience preferred.
