Watercooler Format
  • No formal presentation will be given.
  • All who attend are encouraged to ask and respond to questions.
  • The Watercooler Chat will occur via the Chat interface in the TE SIG Adobe Connect Room .
  • The chat will occur in audio and text formats (no video presentation).

Preparation
Join The Watercooler Chat
  • On the day of the event, join the TE SIG Adobe Connect Room .
  • Depending on your browser settings, you may be prompted to install or run a Flash plug-in in order to continue.
  • At the Connect Login screen, click the button "Enter as a Guest", type in your name, and click "Enter Room".
  • To join the audio conference, you will experience best connectivity results whether you click the button to receive a dial-out call or you call into the conference.
  • Avoid using a microphone, which may create static and make it difficult for you to participate.

Participation
  • The Watercooler Chat Manager will give a brief introduction before turning it over to guest moderator.
  • This is an audio AND text-driven chat. No video presentation will occur.
  • Enter your questions and comments into the Chat interface and the moderator will respond.
  • After the event, a recording of the audio and the accompanying text chat transcript will be made available in the file gallery for all SIG members.
Post-Chat Resources
  • To save a copy of the chat transcript, come back to this page after the chat to download a copy.
  • A copy of the meeting recording will be embedded on this page.

Neil Perlin (nperlin@nperlin.cnc.net) is president of Hyper/Word Services (www.hyperword.com) of Tewksbury, MA. He has 36 years of experience in technical writing, with 30 in training, consulting, and developing for online formats and tools including WinHelp, HTML Help, JavaHelp, CE Help, XML, RoboHelp, Flare, and others. Neil is MadCap-certified for Flare and Mimic, Adobe-certified for RoboHelp, and Viziapps-certified for the ViziApps mobile app development platform. He is an STC Fellow and the founder and manager of the Beyond the Bleeding Edge track, which ran at the STC Summit from 1999 until 2014.
